Working for Us

Equal Opportunities

Sixth Sense will seek to ensure genuine quality of opportunity in all apects of its activities as an employer.

Child Protection

Every Sixth Sense employee having direct contact with young people is required to undergo an enhanced CRB Disclosure check to ensure that anyone the company wishes to employ has not been charged with an offence under the Child Protection Act.  All Sixth Sense employees are required to abide by the covering Child Protection Policy and these guidelines.

Advertising for Current Vacancies

All vacancies are advertised externally in a way that ensures as many people as possible are reached. In some instances and depending on the scale and fee (with reference to short term contracts) it may be appropraite for jobs to go out to a limited tender.

We always post current vacancies on our website, and when appropriate use TheatreWorks (www.theatreworks.org.uk), Stage Jobs (www.StageJobsPro.com), the Guardian (www.guardian.co.uk) & Spotlight Interactive (www.spotlight.com) to advertise posts.  We sometimes use independent Casting Directors to help us find the right people for the work.

Contracts

Sixth Sense Theatre for Young People is a member of the Independent Theatre Council (the employers' body for small and middle scale theatre) and is an ITC Approved Manager. This means that we use union approved contracts and working conditions for all our staff and have access to information, advice, training and networking opportunities.
