FAQs

Here are some frequently asked questions that Sixth Sense regularly receives:

How can I join Swindon Youth Theatre?
You can apply by downloading an application form from our website and posting it to us.  We try to clear our waiting list every 6 weeks.

I'm 16 years of age and thinking about a career in theatre.  What are my options?
There's a great website, getintotheatre.org, that aims to help 14- 25 year olds find out about career opportunities, work experience, training and much more!  We'd really recommened you check it out- it's full of useful information and guidance.  Our Education & Outreach Leader, Laura, is also on the end of the phone if you'd like to make an appointment for a one-to-one.

I'm a local school teacher seeking drama workshops for my school.  Can you help?
Yes, we do lots of one off drama workshops/projects in schools that can link to almost any subject.  Just let us know your requirements and we'll see what we can do.

There's only 3 full time members of staff at Sixth Sense.  How do you get everything done?

We contract around 70 artists annually to work for us on a freelance basis- from Writers to Dramaturges to Casting Directors to Casual labourers.  Jemma is permentantly drawing up contracts!

Do you provide teacher INSET training?
Yes.  Laura, provides this service.

What is your next production?
Our work ranges from creative theatre productions for primary schools and family audiences to issue-based theatre productions for secondary schools. Find out more on our current production information page.

How do you decide what projects to do?
The programming policy for the organisation is one that responds to the interests and needs of the local community and at the same time reflecting the plural society in which we live.
