Ted's Tails
An exciting performance by members of Swindon Youth Theatre (Sixth Sense Theatre for Young People) aged 7 to 11 celebrating the mindboggling work that Ted Hughes created for the young at heart; including his plays 'Sean, The Fool, The Devil and The Cats' and' Orpheus'.

Weekly workshops
Sixth Sense runs Swindon Youth Theatre for young people in the town's Wyvern Theatre. In a safe environment, young people are encouraged to develop performance and theatre-making skills, grow in confidence, work as a team and develop an appreciation and enjoyment of theatre. The tutors are all experienced workshop leaders who have a wide breadth of knowledge and skills - and all of them have been police-checked, trained in first aid and child safety.

Next Generation Swindon (N.G.S.P)
We offer 'Next Generation Swindon' to members of Swindon Youth Theatre between the ages of 16-25. The project is aimed at expanding the experience of young people who are likely to go onto study the arts in further education, and potentially become the practitioners of tomorrow.
The project has four elements: Perceive, Programme, Participate and Probe...
Perceive:
After the huge success of our 2008 & 2009 visits, participants of N.G.S.P will be given another opportunity to go to The Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The aim of the trip is to widen the participant's experiences of performance as well as give them a taste of this internationally acclaimed festival. Attendees on the trip get to go and see around 10 productions over the visit.
Programme:
As part of the Edinburgh trip each attendee gives a verbal review of a performance to camera. These reviews are presented to the programmers at Swindon's two major theatre venues; The Wyvern Theatre and Swindon Arts Centre. We aim for our N.G.S.P participants to help influence the future programming of shows for young audiences in Swindon.
Participate:
As part of Swindon Youth Theatre we make a promise to all our members (whether they are part of this project or not) that they will be given several opportunities a year to perform to an audience; whether that is street theatre, main stage productions or studio sharings. We would encourage N.G.S.P participants to take full advantage of these opportunities.
Probe:
Members of the project are also to be given the opportunity to develop their knowledge and understanding of one particular element of producing theatre; whether that is directing, performing, designing, stage management or writing. As part of the package they will have two mentoring sessions with a professional in their specified area and will be given tailored information on how to develop their own skills as a practitioner and an opportunity to discuss future plans with the individual.
